The Al-Zour refinery will have the biggest refining capacity in the Middle East, and is designed to refine 615,000 barrels per day at maximum capacity, increasing Kuwait’s national refining capacity to more than 1.5 million barrels per day.
Fluor is working with its joint venture partners to deliver two engineering, procurement, fabrication and construction packages for key process support units, utilities and infrastructure for the Al-Zour refinery project.
Duqm refinery project will put Oman directly on the path to prosperity. The refinery, once operational, will process 230,000bpd of crude oil and occupy 900 hectares in the Duqm industrial zone, with expected investments of upto $15bn over the next decade.
The awards enjoyed a record number of nominations, attracting 63 entries in six highly contested categories covering occupational health and safety, process safety, the environment, resource utilisation and more.
The awards extended to EQUATE included the Platinum Award for Manufacturing for the 10th consecutive year, the Gold Award for Excellence in Engineering and Construction, and the Gold Award for the Best HSE Initiative.
