Hilli Episeyo is the world's first FLNG vessel developed as a conversion project from an LNG carrier. Moored off the coast of Cameroon, and having recently offloaded its sixth LNG cargo, FLNG Hilli Episeyo clearly demonstrates the value of Golar’s quick-delivering, low-cost alternative to land-based solutions.
Commissioning works on the Hilli were executed at a rapid pace, obtaining first LNG 46 days from the initial introduction of gas on 25 January 2018. Golar went on to secure commercial acceptance from the customer on 2 June, effective 31 May.
Black & Veatch successfully completed its guaranteed performance test on 12 August (154 days from first LNG), for all four of the Hilli Episeyo's PRICO liquefaction trains, demonstrating their ability to meet customer demands for continuous and efficient production.
Black & Veatch’s PRICO technology uses a single-mixed refrigerant loop for natural gas liquefaction – a process that provides several key benefits, including requiring minimal equipment, scalability and a compact process footprint that makes it ideal for offshore liquefaction projects.
“Completing the performance testing aboard the Hilli Episeyo is the latest evidence of the benefits our PRICO technology provides for floating LNG solutions,” said Bob Germinder, Black & Veatch senior vice president and managing director of floating oil and gas Solutions.
