In August 2018, Petrofac was awarded a contract worth around $370mn by Basra Oil Company for expansion of the central processing facility, located in the Majnoon Field, Southern Iraq. Under the terms of the 34-month contract, the lump-sum EPC project scope of work includes two oil processing trains, able to process 200kbopd. In the same month, Petrofac’s Engineering & Production Services East business was awarded a multi-million dollar additional scope of work in Bahrain from Tatweer Petroleum. Under the terms of the scope of work contract, Petrofac will execute on a lump-sum turnkey basis the EPC of additional wells and connect them to the gas dehydration facility. In March 2018, Petrofac signed a binding letter of intent for a contract worth around $580mn with a GCC national oil company for the EPC of a major project. In February 2018, Petrofac and Samsung Engineering, in a 50/50 joint venture, signed the $2bn EPC Package 2 Utilities & Offsites (U&O) contract with Oman’s Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company. The U&O package consists of a utility production facility that produces water, air, steam and electricity essential to the plant, tanks those store crude oil and intermediate and final products before and after the refinery, and a sewage treatment facility. The project, which will be executed on an EPC turnkey basis, is expected to be completed in 2021.
