Sipchem brings methanol plant back onstream after maintenance

Sipchem announced the safe completion of the scheduled periodic turnaround maintenance activities for the methanol plant of the International Methanol Company, an affiliate of Sipchem.

International Methanol Company is an affiliate of Sipchem from December 2004, with production capacity of 967,000 metric tonnes per annum.

Start-up activities for the methanol plant commenced on 24 November 2018. During the scheduled turnaround, the required work was completed safely, which will enhance the plant’s efficiency, increase its reliability, reduce production cost and allow it to achieve its future operational plans.

The financial impact of this scheduled turnaround and Project execution will be reflected in the company’s financial results of the 4th quarter of 2018. The company has announced that it has taken the necessary actions to eliminate any potential negative impact on its customers.
