It was a day of celebrations as stakeholders from the energy industry, converged in Dubai for the 2018 Oil & Gas Middle East and Refining & Petrochemicals Middle East Awards on 12 September at the Buddha-Bar in Grosvenor House. The awards ceremony took place in the presence of a distinguished gathering of upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas industry professionals from the region.
Several shortlisted companies and individuals were in contest for each of the 10 wards this year, and various emotions were on display from the winners and ‘highly commended’ nominations, as their names were being called out from the stage.
The jury panel this year, comprising five judges – Luciano Poli, president, India, Middle East and North Africa, Dow; Vivek Chandra, CEO and founder, Texas LNG; Nicholas Kjaer, general manager, Middle East, Churchill Drilling Tools; Ben Oudman, regional manager, DNV GL, oil and gas, Continental Europe, Eurasia, Middle East, India and Africa; and Annabel Green, chief technology officer, Tendeka – considered the merit of each and every entry, and decided the winner and the ‘highly commended’.
