06. SK Engineering & Construction
A deal worth $1.6bn was signed by SK Engineering & Construction in August 2017 with Iran’s Tabriz Oil Refining Company to renovate the Iranian company’s refinery. The project involves upgrading Tabriz Oil Refining Company’s 110,000bpd refinery. A consortium of SK Engineering & Construction and Iran’s Oil Design Construction Company, according to the agreement, will finance and implement the renovation project.
TechnipFMC announced on 4 Dece-mber 2017 that, jointly with Samsung Engineering and Tecnicas Reunidas, it had been awarded a $4.2bn contract from Bapco. The project will be executed on engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning lump sum turnkey basis and is slated for completion in 2022. It includes a residue hydrocracking unit, hydrocracker unit, hydro desulphurisation unit, crude distillation unit, vacuum distillation unit, etc.
08. Daewoo Engineering & Construction
An interna-tional joint venture led by Daewoo Engineering & Construction and Tecnicas Reunidas was selected in August 2017 by Duqm Refinery and Petrochemical Industries Company to execute the project of the process units for the new refinery of Duqm in Oman. The contract was awarded on a lump sum turnkey basis to the joint venture for an approximate value of $2.75bn and duration of 47 months. Daewoo holds a 35% stake in the joint venture.
09. L&T Hydrocarbon Engineering
L&T’s Hydrocarbon Division bagged a major pipeline contract on 20 September 2017 with a value close to $262mn from Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) for engineering, procurement and construction of a new 48” crude transit line from North Kuwait to Ahmadi. The completion of the project is scheduled in Q3-2020. L&T is currently executing Gathering Centre-30 project for KOC. L&T has been serving the onshore hydrocarbon sector since the early 1990s.
10. GS Engineering & Construction
GS Engineering & Construction announced in June 2017 that it had won an order worth $865mn to restore the fire-hit refinery unit owned by ADNOC. The company aims to complete the work by early 2019. ADNOC restarted crude distillation and associated units after the fire, but gasoline and propylene production have been partially reduced. GS Engineering is recognised as one of the world leaders in the plant EPC business.
