21. Amec Foster Wheeler
Duqm refinery appointed Amec Foster Wheeler (Amec FW) as the PMC in August 2017 for the refinery’s EPC phase. In March 2017, Amec FW was awarded a contract by Petrochemical Industries Company for the integration project between its olefins III, aromatics II and ZOR refinery in Kuwait. In December 2016, Al Hosn Gas awarded the FEED services contract to Amec FW to expand the Shah Gas plant’s capacity by 50%. In November 2016, Amec FW was awarded a contract by The National Company for Fertilizers & Chemicals to supply material and detailed engineering for a steam reformer heater for its fertiliser facility in Egypt.

TechnipFMC was awarded by Zakum Development Company an EPC contract in May 2017 for a sulphate reduction plant on West Island located offshore Abu Dhabi, UAE. The objective of the EPC project is the installation of a sulphate reduction plant (SRP) module along with new installations and tie-in to the existing facilities in West Island.
The SRP module incorporates cutting-edge water treatment technologies with advanced filtration and nano-filtration systems. These systems are used for water injection into Upper Zakum western areas reservoir tight structure, which requires high quality water with less sulphate content and particle size.

In August 2017, an MoU was signed by KBR with Saudi Aramco to boost in-Kingdom procurement of services. KBR announced in May 2017 that it has been awarded a FEED and project management services contract for Oman Liquefied Natural Gas. In November 2016, KBR’s Saudi Arabian joint venture engineering operation, KBR-AMCDE, signed an amendment to extend its existing General Engineering Services Plus contract with Saudi Aramco. KBR was awarded a new contract in March 2016 for proprietary equipment and has also restarted work under the contract awarded by Tecnimont previously announced in December 2011 for the licence and basic engineering design of a new ammonia plant to be built by Chemical Industries Holding Co (Kima) in Aswan, Egypt.

24. CTCI Corporation
CTCI Corporation was awarded in February 2016 a contract to build a new ethylene cracking furnace at Saudi Kayan petrochemical complex in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The project comprises the installation of a new additional furnace, decoking drum, GAS dryer, and furnace technology acquisition. This contract covers FEED, detailed engineering design, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning assistance, and training of the owner’s personnel, as well as the start-up of the furnace, which is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2017.
CTCI Corporation was awarded a major FEED contract in January 2016 from SABIC for an ethylene oxide/ethylene glycol debottlenecking project of Saudi Kayan in Jubail. The project marks a milestone for CTCI, which is expanding the scope of its services with SABIC into the FEED field, and paves the way for acquiring similar opportunities in the future.

25. Mott MacDonald
Mott MacDonald was appointed by Qaiwan Group in November 2016 to provide EPC management services for the new Xarajyan oil terminal in Iraqi Kurdistan. The facility will handle petroleum products such as gasoline, diesel, aviation turbine fuel, kerosene, fuel oil and liquefied petroleum gas.
Mott MacDonald will design the first phase of the 140,800m3 storage terminal, auxiliary utilities and infrastructure facilities at Xarajyan. The consultancy will also provide interface and procurement engineering services and will assist with pre-fabrication, construction and assembly engineering. Construction management will be delivered through a separate contract. The terminal is scheduled to be completed by the second quarter of 2018.
