Bechtel was awarded in April 2017 two contracts by Carbon Holdings of Egypt: one to provide project management services for the Tahrir Petrochemicals Complex at Ain Sokhna, Egypt, and another to build two new polypropylene units at an adjacent site. In its project management role, Bechtel will have oversight of project execution and contractor performance on what will be the largest petrochemicals complex in Egypt.
Bechtel has signed a licence agreement in May 2016 with Assiut Oil Refining Company for the process design of a delayed coking unit in Egypt. The unit will be part of the $1.5bn refinery upgrade programme.

17. Linde Engineering
Linde Engineering has been awarded a contract in February 2016 for Borouge’s petrochemical plant in Ruwais, Abu Dhabi, UAE. The project scope includes EPC services for a new boil-off gas compressor project at the plant. It will also entail a number of tie-ins to the existing facility. The contract was awarded as part of Borouge’s plans to improve the capabilities of its world-class petrochemical complex, making it more energy efficient. The Linde Group is one of the leading gases and engineering companies in the world.
18. Jacobs Engineering Group
Jacobs Engineering Group (Jacobs) received an amendment from Saudi Aramco in November 2016 for its general engineering services (GES) contract. Jacobs announced in July 2016 that it had received a three-year contract from Sipchem to provide GES. In June 2016, Jacobs received a contract to provide detailed engineering and procurement assistance services to TCI Sanmar Chemical for its PVC-2 polyvinyl chloride plant expansion project in Port Said, Egypt. During the same month, Jacobs announced that it received a three-year contract from Sahara Petrochemicals to provide GES. Jacobs received a two year contract in May 2016 from SATORP to provide general engineering services.

SNC-Lavalin announced in August 2017 that it had received a notice to proceed from Salalah Methanol Company (SMC) with the EPC phase of its anhydrous liquid ammonia plant project. In April 2017, SNC-Lavalin was given a contract by Saudi Aramco for engineering and project management services for the Berri increment programme. SNC-Lavalin was awarded a contract by SMC in March 2017 for the EPC of an anhydrous liquid ammonia plant. In January 2017, SNC-Lavalin was provided a five-year extension to its existing General Engineering Services Plus contract with Saudi Aramco. SNC-Lavalin was offered an EPC contract by Saudi Aramco for the expansion of asphalt production facilities at its Ras Tanura Refinery in Saudi Arabia, in April 2016.
