Saudi Kayan Petrochemical Company (Saudi Kayan), has announced that its amine projects in Jubail industrial city passed commissioning yesterday.

The project produces 100,000 tonne per year of aminoethanols, and 40,000 tonne per year of ethoxylates.

Mutlaq Al-Morished, chairman of the board of Saudi Kayan and executive vice president of corporate finance (SABIC) said that these products are produced for the first time in the Kingdom, and will open new opportunities to further diversification opportunities for the downstream sector.

Saudi Kayan had already started commercial production in October 2011, and it expects to start commercial production of all its units by 2013.
