Everyone presented showed love and gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said for supporting Omani women in all spheres of life. They also expressed appreciation for designating a day in honour of Omani women and the enviable position that women enjoy in the country, including representation in key government positions.
Nofal Al Saidi, human resource services general manager at Orpic, said: “Omani women have become a key contributor to the development of Orpic in various fields reflected by numerous successes achieved by women at the different work fields. Driven by its vision to be a competitive downstream business that Oman is proud of, Omani women at Orpic represent around 10% among the company's work force and is set to increase during the coming five years."
The ceremony included a number of workshops and various activities, in addition to the exhibition of small and medium enterprise (SME) products, which are produced by Omani women, through Tasneed Program, an Orpic initiative that supports and develops SMEs and household products across the Sultanate.
It is worth to mention that Orpic celebrates Omani Women’s Day on an annual basis to reiterate one of the company’s values to serve Oman and its customers with pride, and to recognise the essential role women are playing to contribute in driving the country’s growth and development on all levels.
